The Port Gaverne beach is dotted with rock pools and caves to explore, perfect for families, and just a minutes walk from Tredore.

There are several stunning walks around the coastal footpath. To the South a beautiful walk to Port Quin - Allow 2 hours to get to Port Quin on the coastal footpath (strenuous), there is a shorter route back inland to Port Isaac, which takes approx 1 hour.

North of Port Gaverne you can walk to Boscastle/Tintagel along the coastal footpath - Allow a whole day, this is a strenuous walk!! - There is a local bus running from Tintagel back to Port Gaverne.

There are also organised activities running from Port Gaverne beach in the summer months, including - Kayaking & Coasteering.

Surfing - North Cornwall offers some of the best all year round surfing anywhere in the UK and beaches like Polzeath (5 miles) have surfing tuition and hire facilities for beginners.

Fishing - There are numerous sea fishing spots along the Port Gaverne headland and there are organised boat fishing trips that run from Port Isaac harbour, these are seasonal so please check at the harbor side.

Further Afield

The surrounding area offers a wide variety of activities for visitors:

The Camel Trail - Walking and Cycle track from Padstow to Bodmin. This picturesque disused railway track rewards visitors with beautiful views of the Camel Estuary and plenty of picnic spots along the way. Bikes can be hired from Wadebridge and Padstow

Ferry from Rock to Padstow - Sails throughout the day in the spring and summer months and less frequently throughout the autumn and winter months. Padstow is infamous for it's association with celebrity chef Rick Stein and his restaurants and shops. The harbour is a busy destination but offers families a variety of activities from speed boat trips, art galleries, shops and walks.
